This basket is woven by artisan families from Michoacán, Mexico, who work with fibers such as tule reed and chuspata, aquatic plants obtained from the region's lakes. The tule reed is sun-dried and moistened before weaving to regain flexibility. Each piece is carefully handcrafted over a metal frame, integrating braided handles and preserving traditional techniques like twisted weaving.
